Superintendent’s Biographical Information

Joe Iacano has served as Superintendent in Crestwood Local Schools since 2003. He previously served as Director of Curriculum  for Garfield Heights City Schools; Middle School Principal in Cuyahoga Falls; and Assistant Principal at Crestwood High School. He taught social studies in North Ridgeville.

Mr. Iacano and his wife have three children ages nine, twelve, and eighteen. His hobbies include bicycling, assisting with youth baseball, playing guitar, and writing and recording music. He grew up in Maple Heights and graduated from Bedford City Schools. He is a big Cleveland Indians fan!

His professional preparation includes a Master’s Degree from the University of Akron and an undergraduate degree from Kent State. He also attended summer courses on school leadership at Harvard University on two occasions.

In 2002 he served at the state level on the Governor’s Closing the Achievement Gaps Committee and he currently serves on the State Superintendent’s International Education Committee.
